O Miguel lá foi ao médico e lá teve a sua sentença preliminar: nerve root syndrome caused by a slip disk. Ou seja, hérnia discal. Para confirmar, mais uma semaninha de espera e um MRI Scan: Ressonância Magnética. Ele bem disse ao médico que tinha pelo menos um kilograma de platina na cara, mas parece que lhe vão fazer um teste antes de entrar na maquineta a ver se realmente o meu marido terminator pode ser examinado. Achei imensa piada ao guia que lhe mandaram por correio, para "ir lendo" antes do exame. Vale a pena transcrevê-lo parcialmente, com a parte que achei mais hilariante. É suposto este guiazinho deixar-nos descansados, mas não. Isso e a pergunta fantástica que costumam fazer antes do exame, segundo me disse um colega: Tem consciência que este exame vai mostrar tudo sobre o seu corpo e a sua saúde, tudo o que quer ver e o que não quer? Está preparado para isso?

Fazer este exame é como ir à bruxa ter um encontro imediato com o nosso futuro, suponho. E cá está o texto (partes dele).

The Scan

You will be made comfortable on the scanning table. The radiographer will explain exactly what to expect as this can vary from examination to examination.
The table will be moved into the scanner slowly, with the part of the body being scanned moved into the middle of the scanner.
The lights remain on, and the scanner remains open at both ends. The radiographer will give you a squeeze ball to use if you need urgent attention. You will be provided with earplugs, or headphones, through which we can play you some music. We have a selection of music but you can bring your own if you wish to.

Is it painful?
MRI is not painful. You may already be in pain and that is why you are coming for the scan but nothing in the scan will cause you any more pain. We will do our best to make you as comfortableas possible before we start scanning.
